On June 30, 2011, the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality signed the new NPDES General Permit for Stormwater Discharges from Industrial Activity to Waters of the State, replacing the previous General Permit on Administrative Extension.  

The new permit, NER900000, became effective on July 1, 2011.  The permit mirrors the USEPA's Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP);  NDEQ also included positive changes from the previous permit.  For example, additional clarifications for Industrial dischargers have been included as well as now allowing facilities to maintain records in electronic format.  

The new permit along with fillable forms, fact sheet, and guidance documents are available at the NDEQ website.  NDEQ intends to provide additional training materials and guidance documents to the regulated community.
