The City of Omaha has been constructing demonstration projects throughout the watershed to show the different types of post construction best management practices (BMPs) and how they reduce runoff and pollution entering the local creeks, streams, and ultimately the Missouri River. They are all located in public areas and have information on site describing the BMP and how it works. Visit the following facilities to see these features working to improve our water quality: - UnderTheSink: rain gardens and rain barrel - Orchard Park/Cole Creek Restoration Project: rain gardens and bio-swale - Saddlebrook Joint Use Facility: green roof and rain garden - Pawnee Wetlands (at the north end of Cunningham Lake): wetlands to filter silt from the flow to the lake that is fed by the Little Papillion Creek

The City of Omaha also hosted a Bio-retention Workshop for Professionals. These professionals can be useful resources to homeowners and businesses that would like to include water quality BMPs into their landscaping.
